Houston Amateur Golf Association - Membership Information
To join the Houston Amateur Golf Association, just complete our Membership Application. If you have a GHIN handicap index with another club, please be sure to enter your GHIN number on the application.
Before doing so, please make sure that HAGA is an organization that is appropriate for you, based on the following:
- HAGA is only for amateur men who are 18 or above.
- College golf team members cannot play in HAGA tournaments.
- The yearly dues for HAGA are $100.
- The maximum number of handicap strokes allowed for HAGA events is 24 even if the player's course handicap is higher.
- All new players will be placed in a Special flight with other new players for their first five rounds. The Callaway golf handicap system is utilized for all such players until a USGA handicap is established.
- If you have an existing GHIN handicap index, you will still be required to play five rounds in the Special flight. After completing the five rounds, HAGA will report scores using your existing GHIN number.
For additional information please read About HAGA and take a look at our Schedule.
Once your application and check have been received, you will be contacted by Fred LaGrasta, HAGA's Membership Chairman to answer any questions or provide further information or assistance that you may need. If you have questions that you would like answered before submitting in your application, feel free to send Fred an e-mail.
After becoming a member, you will be emailed tournament sign up information or you can send an e-mail to Connie our trournament administrator by the Wednesday afternoon before the event. If you want to sign up for a Tournament and there is not enough time for us to receive your application and check you should call or email Fred so the necessary arrangements can be made.
