Houston Amateur Golf Association - Membership Information
To join the Houston Amateur Golf Association, complete our Membership Application and mail it to the address on the form along with your check for the annual dues of $100. If you have a GHIN handicap index with another club, please be sure to enter your GHIN number on the application.
Before doing so, please make sure that HAGA is an organization that is appropriate for you, based on the following:
- HAGA is only for men who are 18 or above.
- College golf team members cannot play in HAGA tournaments.
- The yearly dues for HAGA are $100.
- The maximum number of handicap strokes allowed for all HAGA events is 24. This is applicable even if the calculation of a player's course handicap results in a number higher than 24.
- All new players will be placed in a Special flight with other new players for their first five rounds. The Callaway golf handicap system is utilized for all such players until a USGA handicap is established.
- If you have an existing GHIN handicap index, you will still be required to play five rounds in the Special flight. After completing the five rounds, HAGA will report scores using your existing GHIN number.
For additional information please read About HAGA and take a look at our Schedule.
Once your application and check have been received, you will be contacted by Fred LaGrasta, HAGA's Membership Chairman to answer any questions or provide further information or assistance that you may need. If you have questions that you would like answered before sending in your application, feel free to call Fred at 713-819-7701, or you can send Fred an e-mail. You can also contact our Tournament Administrator, Connie Jander, with any questions by e-mail.
After becoming a member, sign up for events by calling the HAGA Tournament Line, 281-251-7627, by Thursday evening before the weekend of each scheduled event.
